Consolidation amongst wholesalers and suppliers meant taking on more products. Subsequently sales reps are bombarded with more product information, marketing, and support data than ever. There was a need to create a convenient and efficient method for dealing with the chaos. Unfortunately, until now, there was no one tool that could do the job efficiently.
When we say “built by sales reps, for sales reps”, we mean it. An engineer by trade, the founder worked at IBM for many years until changing careers and entering into the world of wine and spirits sales. Immediately, the glaring inefficiency of the system was evident. The founder quickly realized that the beverage sales industry was very much behind in its digital maturity, so he decided to do something about it.
Sales reps can only use Apple iPad’s as their presentation device. They will need to download the application from the Apple app store and then register with Positive.io to begin using it. We decided on iPads because the screens on mobile phones are just too small.
Websites are one-size-fits all generic products that attempt to speak to the world, from Zimbabwe to Bali. We take a more personal and local approach. The retailer in Scarsdale or the restaurateur in Montauk is more concerned with product details that affect them on a more localized level. Our backend admin system allows for marketing managers, sales managers and anyone with permissions to upload virtually any document, image, spread sheet or video to our database. Sales consultants then access this collateral fast to present to their customers out in the field.
We like to say “so easy an 80 year old can use it “. But seriously, we get a lot of people comment that it’s simple and easy to use. Simplicity was our focus right from the start however simplicity can be very complex. We spent hundreds of hours in development trying to make it as simple and intuitive as possible.
We are currently in the beta stage, which means we are testing it out for bugs and kinks. It can only be used in New York State for now. We are however in the process of scaling it out for the entire nation. An international version will not be available till 2024.

Competition is fierce and the reality is that there is an unrelenting onslaught software and technology that devouring the world.
